Germany: Court ruling issued on Halal slaughtering

Karstruhe, Germany, Dhul Hijja 3/Feb 15 (IINA) – A ruling by the Constitutional Court of the Federal Republic of Germany gives the Muslims the right to slaughter animals the Islamic way, Halal, though many Germans still oppose the measure. One of the anti-Muslim publications went to the extent of calling the ruling a "return to the middle ages," and that it was against the wishes of the majority, who are non-Muslims. There are over 5,000,000 Muslims in Germany, the majority of them of Turkish origin.
